While considered to be a gratifying experience for all the members of a family, homeschooling can be a pain in the pocket.

While considered to be a gratifying experience for all the members of a family, homeschooling can be a pain in the pocket.

For most families, frugal homeschooling is gaining popularity. This is particularly true for those who live on a restricted budget and wanted to limit their expenses. The following are some ways to give your child the adequate education without spending too much.

Most families can’t live without the internet. It is a priceless commodity that can be a source of essays and curriculum programs. The great thing about it is that it’s free and you don’t have to go out. You can consider getting secondhand materials such as books and curriculum programs from online auctions.

The library is also a great venue to meet a number of your needs. Besides being able to borrow books free of charge, it can also be a great way to take the family out.

Before leaving for the library, list down the books as well as topics that you plan to borrow so it will not slip off your mind.

Are you a member of a home school group? Then you can propose the trading and selling of used teaching aides such as books and curriculum materials. This could be a great opportunity to earn money by putting the materials you don’t need anymore on sale. At the same time, you get to purchase new ones at lower prices.

You can borrow books or programs from people that you know. They wouldn’t mind that you use it especially if they don’t have any need for it anymore. In case you also have some resources to share, either you borrow from each other for a period of time or you can trade.

Check the newspaper in your area if there is a garage or yard sale that offers books as well as other supplies. Remember to use your creativity when shopping for materials. There are those that don’t seem to look like it, but can serve as perfect pieces for projects in science and other subjects.

This author additionally often gives advice about subject including central air conditioner units and air conditioner window units.

As a parent, having to deal with days when our kids have to stay home from school, sick, is inevitable. Of course, we gladly rearrange our schedules for our kids’ needs, but we can’t help but wonder where our kids could have caught that bug.

The first thing that comes to mind is school. Then again, how many times do we send our kids to school with a slight cold or cough? If you think about it, it really is a double-edged sword.

To help you decide whether it would be a good idea to keep your kids home or send them to school in such a situation, here are a few tips:

First things first, assess how your child is feeling. If a child is feeling feverish, you should definitely let them stay home. This condition is contagious; you don’t want your child spreading the sickness to other kids in school.

Be considerate to the other children and their families, keep your child home. Not only will your child thank you for it, so will the mothers of the other children in your child’s school.

However, if your child is not feeling that bad, and is just suffering from a simple cold or cough, giving them some cold medicine will suffice. It would also help to teach them basic hygiene tips such as properly discarding used tissues and washing their hands regularly. It would also help to put in a small bottle of hand sanitizer in their back pack for such instances.

Train them to cover their mouths or use their upper arm to block their sneeze. This will help them avoid spreading germs.

Proper hygiene can definitely prevent your child from catching various diseases such as colds and cough. Remind them to always wash their hands after using the restroom, and especially before having meals. We can’t always protect our kids from harm, but we can train them to protect themselves as best as they can.

This author additionally frequently writes regarding products like N connectors and fiber optic cable.

A few weeks back I received an email from a girl Kim about a Charity Motorcycle event she was working on for Bide A Wee an Animal shelter I worked at when I was younger. As I read the info I was looking forward to attending the event only to find it was being held at Jugs and Strokers the only “Biker Bar” on Long Island that does not allow Motorcycle Club Colors. I was pissed to find out I would not be welcome at this event. I then saw the email had been sent out to many other Motorcycle Clubs on Long Island. Pissed Off, I started writing a reply to the email and sent it out to the MC’s here on Long Island. Here is what I wrote.

Hey everyone this is LJ James.

You may not know this but I worked at Bide A Wee in Wantagh for many years. I have some great memories of my time working there. As much as I love the place and think Bide A Wee to be a truly great organization, I will not take off my Colors to go inside Jugs & Strokers to attend this event.

I see this email is addressed to many different Clubs. Some of your beliefs may be different then mine and you may take your Colors off to attend this event. I would hope all of you have more respect for your Club then to do that, but these are my beliefs and may not be yours.

I think it is only fair to Kim who is working very hard for this very worthy cause that she know what your feelings are about the Jugs and Strokers policy in regards to Colors. Kim has spent a lot of time working on this event and I would hate to see her event fail because she is unaware of the Revulsion Jugs and Strokers has towards Motorcycle Clubs!!!

Not only is it an old out dated Policy that promotes the Division of Motorcycle Riders, it is also illegal according to NY State Law! I have been working hard to protect and promote Motorcycle Rights and Unity here in NY and world wide. I think it is time We started working hard to change what is wrong here on Long Island! There is an old saying, “if you want to fix the world start in your own back yard”.

This is an event that, when I heard about it I wanted to attend. Then I hear it is being held at Jugs and now I am “not allowed to attend”.

I am not a bad guy! You all out there know me. How many of your events have I covered in Magazines? How many of you have I DJed for? Not only your Club events but many of your personal family events! I’ve even preformed wedding ceremonies for a few of you and after I married you I Djed your wedding!!!

You too are also all good people. Your MCs have done many things to make Long Island a better place. You have fed the Hungry, Clothed the poor, and made sure every Child on Long Island had a Toy for the Holidays. Our patches stand for what is great about America! Why should we be made to feel that wearing our Colors is even the slightest bit wrong?

If you ask Jugs and Strokers, they might try to use the excuse “well its not your group its other groups who are the bad guys”. That is a cop out, a lie, and an attempt to divide the Long Island Motorcycle Club world!!!

Over the past few years here on Long Island we have seen a Unity in the Motorcycle Club World that many still can not believe. Sport Bike Clubs and Cruiser Clubs riding and hanging together. AMA Clubs and 1% Clubs attend each others events. Law Enforcement Clubs and Outlaw Clubs Breaking Bread and Drinking together at events. I have seen every type of rider hanging out together. This is the Biker dream people!!!

There was a time when we were all told that you could not have a bar on Long Island where all MCs where aloud to mingle together. That there would be nothing but fights and problems. Then JDs Place opened and shortly after that, the Myth was put to rest.

The Motorcycle World here on Long Island has become something We are all very proud of. I call out to all of you MCs, independents, and MROs like ABATE, it is time to end the humiliating practice that Jugs and Strokers has been aloud to inflict upon the Long Island Motorcycle World for far too long!!!

I am tired of this bar being allowed to claim it is a biker bar for bikers, but if your a member of a Motorcycle Club and wear your Colors, you are some how an undesirable, and unwelcome. I say time is up, Jugs and Stokers! You have made enough money off the Long Island Motorcycle world! You need to stop being part of the Problem and become part of the Solution!!!

I’m interested to know what the feelings are of the rest of you!!!

(Because of this reply, Shortly after I wrote this the event was switched to another Long Island Biker Bar “Sick Moon Saloon” That welcomes all who Ride)

LJ James Proud Member Mortal Skulls MC AmericanBikerX.com

Discrimination On The Basis Of Clothing Or Club Membership Is ILLEGAL Article I, Section 11 of the New York State Constitution states “that no person shall be denied the equal protection of the laws of this state or any subdivision thereof.” Article 4, Section 40 of the Civil Rights Law provides that “all persons within the jurisdiction of this state shall be entitled to the full and equal accommodations, advantages, facilities and privileges of any places of public accommodations, resort or amusement subject only to the conditions and limitations established by law and applicable alike to all persons.” The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that individuals have the constitutional right under the First Amendment to wear clothing which displays writing or designs. Cohen v. California, 403 US 15 (1971). In addition, the right of an individual to freedom of association has long been recognized and protected by the United States Supreme Court. Thus, a person’s right to wear the clothing of his choice, as well as his right to belong to any club or organization his choice is constitutionally protected, and persons or establishments who discriminate on the basis of clothing or club membership are subject to a lawsuit.

LJ has a an online Motorcycle Show evey week at 8pm East Coast Time. LJ trys to teach the truth of real Biker life that we do not see on Sons of Anarchy

Depression and anxiety are said to be the causes of uncontrollable anger. When a person is constantly worried about things they have no control over or even things they do have control over, it often causes depression. If you feel that, there is no way out then your depression can impact on your life and cause you to sink into a spiral of despair.

Taking control of your emotions produces good results. If you feel that the world is crumbling down around you, then you are almost definitely thinking negatively, which instigates depression and anxiety. In this short article, we will reveal some techniques to enable you to cope with anxiety and depression, thus relieving uncontrollable anger.

Firstly, let us take a look at the symptoms. Do you feel as if you are going out of your head? Do you scream in your head: ‘I can’t take it any more?’. Do you feel like everyone is out to get you? Do you think people see you as mad? If you are undergoing any or all of these symptoms then you are probably suffering from some form of anxiety and depression.

If you can not find a way to think differently, then you will probably explode when your emotions start to soar and your anger bursts forth. Instead of telling yourself that you are out of your mind, why not tell yourself that you are temporarily emotionally disturbed and that you need to solve the problem. Review all the problem areas carefully and search your memory to see if there are answers there. Reviewing like this, often opens doors to resources you may have overlooked.

If you feel like someone is out to get you then you might have a chemical imbalance or a mental illness. Why not visit your doctor or a mental health expert to learn more about your symptoms and find a way to gain control over your life. Anxiety and depression will play tricks with your mind but sometimes the thoughts are a result of a chemical imbalance.

If you think that people think you are going crazy, you might care to remember that most people have their own problems and don’t have time to analyze you as a person. When you walk into a room and think that people are staring at you, you might want to remember that all people observe the things around them, checking to make sure that everything is all right around themselves before returning to their own lives.

If you feel like you cannot take it any longer, pick up your torture stick and walk another mile. When times are difficult, it does not mean it is the end of the world, although sometimes it may seem this way. If you are struggling to pay bills, fighting to hold a family together, or having difficulty with your children then remember we all have these problems at some time in our lives.

Are your children driving you bonkers? If they are, take a break. Go do something entertaining or exercise. This often relieves the stress that leads to anxiety, depression and anger. Life is too short to worry about the things you do not have control over. If you have problems, the answers are within you, so it pays to review your mind.

If you are struggling to reach your goals then you might want to break your goals down to smaller segments and work slowly to achieve them. If you set goals within reason, you will not need to stress your mind finding a way to achieve your target.

It is important to pamper yourself each day. Learn some relaxation responses that will benefit both your mind and your body. If you feel overwhelmed, you might want to inhale and exhale for ten counts.

Stretching out on a sofa to watch your favourite film can benefit your mind and body, if you want to destress. Learn to concentrate on what you are doing instead of worrying about what you are not doing. This often clears the mind and helps you to relax.

If you are subject to sustained anger, you will most probably have problems for the rest of your life unless you start to take control of your emotions. Remember that depression leads to uncontrollable anger.

The relationship between anger and depression is very important. If you want to know more please visit: http://anger-management.the-real-way.com

by Lori Radun

It doesn’t matter whether you are sending your child off to school for the first time or tenth time, a new school year is upon us. For some children, the thought of school brings up feelings of dread, while others look forward to it. Personally, I loved school! I looked forward to the day my mother took me shopping for new clothes and school supplies.

In our family, education is important to us. We work hard to instill good success habits, and with these ideas, you and your children can enjoy a successful school year too.

Establish Routines for Morning, After School and Bedtime

Morning, after school and bedtime routines provide consistency and structure for a child. They help children stay organized and instill good lifestyle habits. Post routines for your children outlining each specific step you want them to take. Be consistent and help your children practice these routines. When my older son Kai was diagnosed with ADHD in 3rd grade, routines kept him organized and contributed greatly to his success in school.

Give Your Children Lessons in Goal Setting

The sooner we teach our children to set goals, the better. While they are young (under age 12), encourage your children to set one academic goal and one behavioral goal each year. For instance, I will refrain from hitting my sister when I get angry. Academic goals can include completing homework on time, setting up a consistent reading program, or increasing a grade in a particular subject. As children reach middle school age, they can begin to learn how to set bigger goals or set a larger number of goals each year. To remind your children what their goals are, get creative and make a colorful goals sheet or vision board.

Communicate Often with Your Children and Teachers

Last year was a challenging year for my younger son. Constant communication with him and regular check ins with his teacher were critical to helping him be successful in school. A child will not always readily share what is going on at school. While some may openly share the ups and downs, for others it is necessary to ask open ended questions that encourage them to talk. Children will share more easily when parents are emotionally available and can listen without judgment. Create a space during bedtime or playtime to allow your children to freely communicate with you.

Help Your Child Identify His Interests and Talents

Every child is special and different. Some children seem to be born natural athletes, while other children have natural intelligence, humor, or artistic abilities. How do you know what your child enjoys? Pay attention to what gives your child energy and what activities she naturally gravitates towards. Help your child identify what he is good at rather than always focusing on where he needs work. There is enough competition and comparisons going on in schools today. Children should be encouraged to compete with their personal best rather than comparing themselves to other children. Instead of worrying about what Johnny got on his spelling test, teach your child to try and beat his last spelling test score.

Minimize Your Childs Stressors

Stress is all around us, and children are not immune to it. Children deal with their own stress: peer pressure or school bullies, intense sports competition, and academic struggles. Stay tuned in to what could be causing stress for your child. It’s never too early to learn stress management techniques. In our home, we regularly work with our seven year old, teaching him how to plan better, control negative thinking, or combat fears and anxieties. Keep the family calendar balanced by minimizing after school and evening activities. Take care of yourself and your family by modeling healthy eating, exercise and proper sleep.

Success in school is a building block to success later in life. Using these tips will help you and your child create and celebrate a successful school year.
